Volusia County Events January 22-29, 2025

Volusia County First Time Home Buyer Webinar

What are you up to this week?

This weekend, the famous IMAGES: A Festival of the Arts is back again, with hundreds of vendors and artists, live music and activity areas for adults and kids. Founded by Doris “Doc” Leeper, 49 years ago, it has taken on a life of it’s own. The City of New Smyrna shuts down Riverside Dr and Canal St, so find suitable parking, or ride your bikes or golf carts and fill in at the local restaurants, parks, parking lots and street parking for a whole weekend of shopping local artists merch and home goods. Festivities start Friday, from 1 -5; Saturday 9 -5 and wrapping up Sunday from 10-4.

Also, the Rolex 24 takes place at Daytona’s International Speedway this week. Activities start tomorrow, January 23 with driver introductions and autograph sessions, concerts, fireworks and concludes after the race ends on Sunday afternoon. The race will begin at 1:40 PM on Saturday and end at 1:40 PM on Sunday. I don’t know about you, but my son LOVES to watch these race cars circle the track!

Here’s what else is going on this weekend…

Volusia County NEWS

It’s COLD! Be sure you are covering your Florida native (cold sensitive) plants over the next few days. Using breathable fabric like old bedsheets will help the plant breathe and protect it from cold drafts. Do not use plastic or tarps. Make sure your outdoor pets are brought inside and have a warm place to cuddle up, inside your home. If you have chickens or outdoor animals, take proper precautions to insulate their coops, cages or outdoor areas from cold air & rain. I’ve lived here over 30 years and I can not believe the pictures I’m getting from my family in and around the panhandle of Florida. They got 6 inches of snow!
